Okay guys so I told you that I would keep you informed on what is going on and I called all around town trying to find a h4 35/35w and no one had them even the auto parts stores didn't even know what it was. So I called cycle recycle and and he told me that I could take a h4 incondecent which is just like the stock one so I put it in and road last nite for about ten miles and came home, I never lost power when I got home I checked the voltage with the bike off and I had 11. But then when I checked it this morning I had 12 and I didn't put it on the charge. So I believe everything is fine but only time will tell. Thanks again guys for your help

Okay so I road my bike this morning just for a short trip and when I got home I checked the volts on the bike with the bike off and I was getting 12. Then when I decided to take a nice ride tonite I checked it and I only have 9. I am really confused how it could drop 3 volts just sitting in the garage with nothing on

Are you using a large enough battery? This would have nothing to do with it dropping voltage but if your battery is not enough for the bike, I would think that could be a problem.

Its probly 9 months old but I didn't start putting it on the trickle charger until about 2 months ago. The battery is the exact battery for the bike

Okay so I know I just talked to Leadkrm and I had told you that I wasn't having a problem anymore unless I turned the light on, but I have been riding my bike alot for the past two days and haven't had a problem. But I went out and checked the voltage and I only have 10 volts so now I think I might be back to the problem of the stator being the issue not charging correctly. And just fyi I did not have the light on the whole time I had been riding for the last two days. So I am in desperate need of help on figuring this out.

Yea I just talked to my father inlaw and I described what was going on and he said he thinks the stator is the problem because if it is bad then all your electronics are running directly off the battery instead of the stators power. Thus causing the big drain when the head light is always on when riding and the minimal drain when the head light is always off or barly on. The volts will go back up to 12 without running the lights because a battery that functions properly regains it's charge after about 3 hours. So ur battery is doing it's job and working properly just not ur stator

Okay so just to give you all a update I am goin to be replacing my ground wire because after looking my ground is the same size as all my other wires which is about a 12 gauge wire. Im making it a 6 gauge ground and hopefully that works..

Okay so I ended up putting a 2 gauge ground wire on and its not showing that it is charging still so im guessing that it is my stator that is bad

A good ground is always a plus.
When you check the voltage are you checking it while it is running? My 750 does not reach a full 13.5V until its over 3,000 rpm. Therefore, I don't lug it around town to ensure its fully charging.
If your battery is loosing charge when sitting you may have a draw. My rectifier was drawing down the battery. Instead of replacing it w/ a used one I would suggest getting the solid state regulator / rectifier combo if its available for your model.
I had to chase some electrical gremlins on mine, it's a lot of fun.

What year CB500 do you have? I might have one in my box of parts that will work for you....Dan Okay so before I left for a ride today I checked my bike to make sure it was charging and it was so I left and rode about 10 miles then parked it and went to a party and hopped back on it after about 7 hours and rode back home and when I was almost home it was acting like it was not wanting to go and when I pulled in the driveway it died. Now just to let you know I have replaced the rectifier with a used one from cycle recycle 1 but I didn't check it before I put it in im beginning to think that I got a bad one. So what do you guys think

Have you visually inspected the stator? I had one of the yellow wires break on a cb350 right at the connection under the cover. Stators rarely fail but the connections might, and can be soldered. If the wiring looks good, you just need to get a multimeter and start testing the individual components. You should be able to get the specs online somewhere or out of a Haynes manual. Attached is a generic flowchart that may help. Attachments:
