There is a vintage class id like to race in. Never have done it, dont care if im fast, just looks fun. Wavehog might build one too. Yamaha DT250, pretty cool cause the front fender is already shot haha.  |

I was considering this as well once i saw the races going on at the mid america speedway....I used to go watch them at Indy national speedway behind the strip club, and when that shut down I didn't know any local places still held the races.
Is this where you want to race? Do they have a rule book?
I've got a guy I work with really close to selling me his bultaco alpina 250

I just saw the vintage guys race (about 4-6 bikes) and thought it would be fun. they have a 350cc and under class i think i could compete in, half of them werent even driffting  |

I got an ebay line on a cool seatpan/tailpiece that would look cool on that bike,with a choice of sheetmetal or aluminum,probably be easy to fab though.

yeah i prob wont put any money into the bike unless it needs it. ill be the fastest $200 bike there even if im in last place haha. |

Well you won't need that front fender on the flat track, and the most expensive thing will be tires. They are much more than standard street or dirtbike tires if I remember correctly. A good friend of mine is a pro AMA flattracker. If you need help with anything I can hook you up with him. He knows where all the local stuff is and can help in setting your bike up to handle correclty on the turn left track!

exactly what i was saying about the fender  yeah ill prob reach out to your buddy, that would be great, cause my friend in a noob, although his uncle was and still is pretty fast. This will be for recreation, nothing super serious. |

No matter how fast you go, getting that bike setup properly will make it that much more fun! I've always wanted to do some flat track racing, but got so involved with MX that it will have to go on the back burner. Maybe I'll find another bike in the next year. My buddies dad is a pretty accomplished racer too and has about a 100 Bultacos.

very cool. Once i get it, it will sit for a while. i have to unload the other two , twostrokes and the two Cl350's. Ill post them here first. then CL and the RT360 will prob go on EBAY.

There is plenty of Flat Track action on Indiana!!...I did not know this until 2007, but Mid-America Speedway @ Marion Co. Fairgrounds runs almost every other Saturday, Lawrenceburg Speedway almost every Friday, Columbus has at least four 1/2 Miles at the Fairgrounds this Summer, and there may be racing at Bunker Hill, Shelbyville, and Goshen as well. That YamahaDT250 really just needs tires...No knobbies allowed:(.....I'm looking for a motor...150-200cc 4-stroke, air-cooled to finish a pit bike class racer..'like a Honda XR 200 or something...anyone got one???
