Thanks Rednose, That worked great a little tap left+right and it came right off. Than I cut the head off a 1/4 fine thread bolt 2'' long filed a slot in it for a small screw driver, screwed it into the crank than screwed a 5/16 corse thread bolt into the armiture. It came right off so much for the special puller. With the cost of these old harley parts cant spend money on a puller to use once. Thanks Ron Happy to help.

Hey Fattys Cycle has a guy doing there powder coating and it looks awesome, you ought to give them a call. There just 1/2 hr drive from Greenfield too.
Looks like you have a ton to coat though I read somewhere you could do your own with a standard oven. Just baking paint really but be worth checking into for the cost savings. I bet you could use engine enamel and bake it and it would be tits.

I wouldn't recommend it unless u have an extra oven. Very messy for amateurs like me and my friend. We did the wheels on his Honda civic. 14" rims. One at a time. And his mom was pissed!

Thank for the comments and Info. I'm boxing up my crank, rod, cyl, piston, and generator. I'm sending them to Charles (MUTT) Hallam in Wills Texas to work his magic on them. I would have liked to send the whole motor. But after getting a price I figured I could the rest myself. I did pick up two fresh powder coated rims only on e-bay for 25.00 each plus shipping. I couldn't believe someone didn't bid me up. It was stated there was some pitting that wasn't repaired be for powder coated, but I paid more than that for the two that need done. www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=31585.0 If you want to see some of MUTTs work check page 2 of this post Ron

Got some good news from Charles in Texas today that my crank and rod is done and hes working on boring the cyl. And I got a package with my wheels. Not sure if I'm going to use them as they are. Or sand and fill the pits and refinish them. Ron

Lots more to do but that's the fun part for me. Lacing up the wheels has been a real learning experience . Getting the hub centered and making sure to get the right hub offset. Than there's the truing of the rim, it's only took me around two weekends. Next time I think I will have it done or not. I'm one of those guys that hates to farm stuff out. It never seems to meets my expectation.

Wow, that engine is so tiny! It's kind of cute though.

Looking good! Glad to hear Mutt worked on the engine for ya. Won't have to worry about Mosquitos in your neighborhood.

It's been sometime since my last up date. But I've been knee deep in a frame off build of a 55 chevy sedan. But just got back to my little hummer project. Got it started up today it don't sound to bad. Started it with a battery charger then took it off and it continued to run. Make me feel good the generator is charging.
