Thanks, Rednose howes that 65 pacer run, Is it a 125? I got a new set of rubber bands with the bike. Ive been looking for a single cylinder motor for the bike. Right now theres a Kawasaki 200 motor on CL, been in contact with owner but ha vent got see it yet. But not sure I want to make those changes to the HD frame. But I have been thinking about cutting up that little Yamaha 50 and putting glider front end and Kawasaki 200 or something that size and making a board track style bike. And keeping all the hummer stuff for later. Except the forks, I missed a set on e-bay monday went for 250. So what do you think Ron

The pacer runs great, for a 175cc 5HP engine. Tops out at about 55 with no headwind. The HD lightweights from 48-66 all have the same engine mounts, so you could put a 175 in that 48 frame with no modifications. I think the board track idea of yours sounds fun too.

Just picked up another Hummer rubber band front end today. The wheels are turning. Anyone know how I can get the picture of the bike on the home page on my project page. I need to get a good look at the lowered frame in the engine cradle. Thanks Ron

When I was young around 10 or 12 early 60s a neighbor was into motorcycles. One day he drug home a old racer no motor just the bike it had a hummer rubber band forks. He would let sit on it and make sounds like I was racing. Strange but I can remember that like yesterday. A lot of years has went by not ever thinking of those days in the neighbors garage. Now I have two sets of the very same forks and trying to remember the details of the bike. Sometimes life is strange. Ron

I know this project is moving slow. But haven't got a good handle on it yet. Just bought another 49 frame for my extra set of forks. And disassembling the 125 motor to make a parts list. Anybody know how to get the the point cam out of the armature? From what I read there is a special puller to pull the armature. But you have to pull the point cam first. Maybe you use a bearing clamp type puller any one know. I need to replace that point cam maybe I should order it first but I dont want to hurt the armature. Thanks Ron

My manual states: remove generator frame mounting screws and pull generator frame from armature. Remove armature mounting screws and lock washer. Tap sides of circuit breaker cam with soft metal hammer until it is loosened and remove. Then it goes on and mentions the special armature puller... Hope this helps.

Thanks Rednose, That worked great a little tap left+right and it came right off. Than I cut the head off a 1/4 fine thread bolt 2'' long filed a slot in it for a small screw driver, screwed it into the crank than screwed a 5/16 corse thread bolt into the armiture. It came right off so much for the special puller. With the cost of these old harley parts cant spend money on a puller to use once. Thanks Ron
