Couldn't take it any more, my front brake squeal was driving me nuts so I drilled it. No more squeal and braking feels the same. Used a colbalt bit with low speed on the drill press and plenty of tap magic cutting oil

71tr6- I laid it out in AutoCAD (drafting software), printed it full size, taped it to the rotor, then center punched all the holes....there are plenty of templates on the web (least for cb750's) but a lot I felt had the outer holes to close to the edge.
tango- I looked at oem pads and they were $60, this cost me about $7 and for what I read a sure fire way to silence the squeal
I should also say I did not chamfer the holes, there a many different views on this, but I chose not to. After you drill, the edges around the holes will be raised slightly. I knocked them down with a whetstone and some wd-40.
