I have seen Rob Gibson's work on a Matchless G12. He is inept on the restoration of British Motorcycles. It is obvious he doesn't use shop manuals. This particular machine was in need of many corrections. He used silicone instead of designated case sealer. Also the chain case and transmission we're dry upon delivery to the customer. Leaking oil everywhere. Spark plugs were the wrong heat range Champion instead of KLG. Caburettor settings did meet the requirements for that machine,hard to start and missed fired when deaccellurating. Rear tire inner tube valve over torqued and fractured the inner tube. Front wheel spokes, one side assembled in reverse placement. There is more items to be corrected. All for $8000. What a disaster! Instruct your father on to use a computer. Workshop manuals for all the British Motorcycles are online. For those of reading this response & considering a restoration, go somewhere that is reputable. Allow me to retort. First of all this G12 CSR was burnt up in a structure fire decades ago and was a total rusted melted piece of crap when brought to me in milk cartons. One of the carburetors/alternator/mag/all wiring/tac drive were melted. This bike was rebuilt with quality parts, most of which that $8,000 was spent on. The special carb setup, which one was melted, owner wanted to keep. One carb was replaced and both rebuilt with used parts. Had to put a high dollar oil shut off valve that was key operated bc the engine breather breaths into the primary which was dumping oil everywhere (wet sumping) when shut off. When it comes to the bike not having oil in it, if this was a mistake I’m not above admitting to it but I do not believe to be true. The spark plugs at the time were the ones that worked, I haven’t seen a KLG spark plug used in a British bike for years. I have a couple of dusty vintage ones laying on the shelf for display. The correct rim was not available for this bike from any dealer, a British rim was used and was laced accordingly. As for the use of silicone, all engine cases were put together with shellac compound and I do use silicone sparingly on outer covers, have for 30 years. When the bike left here it ran great, looked great, many hours spent on this bike saving a lot of original parts/chrome. It’s known it takes about 200 man hours to restore a motorcycle. Most British bike shops have a labor rate of $75.00 an hour. I had so much time in this bike with all the money on parts I was lucky to break even at minimum wage. The customer never called me to address these stated issues which was completed over 4 years ago, if so any issue that existed would’ve been corrected. I have many pictures of this bike, when it left here it was show worthy. Also remember this bike is over 50 years old, if the carburetors needed re-jetted after being ridden, or timing adjusted, this is not a big surprise. All these issues are minor, these bikes had many problems when they were brand new from the dealership. For it being and $8,000 mistake, that may be on my end. Most if not all British restoration shops that advertise would most likely charge between 12-$20k for this job (which this is not a 100% restoration job). Over 30 years of working on 100’s of British bikes, if there is ever an issue I am always willing to fix. But there’s always someone out there that won’t be happy regardless. My Matchless manual has a green cover and came right from the factory, and still don't use the internet.

As the daughter if a bike shop owner who stole nearly 300$ from a friend of his, and myself having 3 kids by 3 different father's, having been with a black man in my turn years who was my dad's friend, I feel I'm qualified to state that doing business at a bike shop in Bainbridge that is NOT INSURED is a good bet !

Guess Robbie must be doing something right if the same guy is constantly harassing him and making fake posts impersonating his daughter and others. Troy Murphy is a low life and always has been. Look him up. Robbie has been doing this for years and won’t be going anywhere. Troy don’t you need to go change your shit bag and harass more women. The only thing Robbie has done wrong over these past few years was not had proper aim. Leave his family alone. If you want an expert in this business check him out, obviously go else where if you need marksman training.

I've personally known Rod since I moved to Bainbridge back around 95 when he spotted my late wife and I on my 68 Tr6R and went out of his way to welcome us to town Haven't lived in Bainbridge in a long time now, in fact about 60 miles away now but on those times I need help with my bike I still drive to Rob for help Having owned my bike for some 37 years now and being a certified mechanic myself I'm here to tell ya the man knows his shit I see post by someone using fake names but I'm calling BULLSHIT If anyone had a problem with any of Rob's work all it needed was a phone call and he would have resolved any percived mistake there might have been As a mechanic I can tell you for a fact no one is perfect but some are better than others and the professional stands behind their work That's Rob As for his famy I've known them since they were babies as well and pretending to be his daughter tells me the poster is a spineless pos with no balls As for Robb's marksmanship..... Well if he took more time off I'm sure I could help him improve it but since he's always ass deep in restoring vintage Triumphs for others I'll be happy to fill in as his marksman if need be Enough with the slander If ya got something negative to say start by using your real name Otherwise fuck off and leave a rare vintage Triumph shop owner and his family alone!!!
