In our modern age soon this may not be a problem but until they are phased out completely... I was always under the understanding that the device with pistons that propels our motorcycles* down the road is an "engine". A motor is an electrical device. *Language is a weird thing isn't it? We have MOTOR-cycles but Automobiles... why not MOTOR-mobiles... or AUTO-cycles... I don't know... just ranting... Anyway, every time I go looking to post something about my engine I look right past the "motors" topic. What does everyone think?

Motors are electric ,engines have pistons. That`s my thought.

I agreed 100% I was trained that motors are electric and engines are compression. I am not sure how to answer the poll as there are 2 questions in it.

Here is the actual definition of motor vs the definition of engine.
mo·tor/ˈmōtər/ Noun: A machine, esp. one powered by electricity or internal combustion, that supplies motive power for a vehicle or for some other device...
en·gine/ˈenjən/ Noun: A machine with moving parts that converts power into motion. A thing that is the agent or instrument of a particular process: "exports used to be the engine of growth".
TECHNICALLY BY DEFINITION, either can be perceived as electric or combustion or steam powered or pneumatic.
I know y'all didn't want some smart ass to come in here lol, but i had a professor tell me that a combustion engine was not a "motor" I then gave him a dictionary and told him to study up or I was going to teach his class for him.

Well I sit corrected... I think motor ssounds Meh. Lets change it to Engine.
Change "motors" = a vote of yes
Keep "motors" = a vote of no.
Piss iff Nova remains self explanatory.
:-D

When I was trained as a small wheel vehicle mechanic for the army this a big deal, "a motor is electric, an engine is gas or diesel". I changed it...... I can't wait to go and ride my enginecycle tonight!

While we are changing things, For the poll, I think instead of "Let's get pissed Nova!!!", we should change that to "Let's piss on Nova!!!"
