Good overview,and most manuals will give you the values of the componets being tested.

someone needs to post a good tutorial on how to use a meter. prob my main weakness. Some meters can be pretty fancy.

Some of those old analog Radio Shack Volt Ohmmeters are the easiest to use and are good enough for the old bikes.Beeping digital ones are pretty simple to use.

I had just logged on to ask for suggestions for a dummy's guide to basic electronics and testing, but it looks like you guys already have it covered. Between this and the info from the DOHC CB forum I guess I don't have an excuse when it comes to figuring out my charging issues. Thanks
