ok, i have a cm400(pic of bike in pic section) that i am about 97% done. I am far from a wiring expert. I have been trying for days to fix an issue. I cannot get my taillight to work(running light). The brake light works fine, but no tail light. Im throwing up my white flag on this one. IS there anyone out there who is good with wiring and can help me solve this mystery??

Do you have a multimeter? If so take the bulb out of the socket. Turn on the lights, ground the black multimeter lead to the frame, engine or the negetive side of the battery terminal. Use the red lead to see if one of the bulb contacts inside the bulb socket has power. Make sure to set the meter to the correct setting to read witin the 12 v range. When probing the light socket with the power on do not touch the side of the light socket and the bulb contact at the same time. If it one of them does then the bulb is getting power. If not the power in circuit wiring will need to be checked from the bulb socket back until you find the break down in the circuit. If the bulb has both the brake light and tail light in the one bulb then you can assume the ground in the socket is good since your brake light works. To make sure the ground is good you can turn off the power disconnect the positive lead of the battery. Set the meter to read resistance, connect meter negative lead to the negative lead of the battery. Touch the side of the bulb socket and you should read very little resistance on the meter. If the is not an indication on the meter "MAKE SURE THE POSITIVE SIDE OF THE BATTERY IS NOT CONNECTED" and turn on the ingition sitch snd light swith if applicable. That is in case the ground runs through the ignition switch. Most likely is does not but just be sure. If you do not have a good ground from the light bulb socket to the battery you will need to work your way back along the wire at each connection until you find the segment of wiring the has the break.
You can pick up a cheap meter at walmart or Harbour Freight.
If you get really stuck PM me and we can set up a time to check your wiring. I live fairly close to Lebanon

I would check to make sure the new bulb works by hooking up two wires to the battery and testing the bulb. One of my led lights did not work when I bought it new.
As for the load equalizer, That should have nothing to do with the tail light not working. You should only need that for the turn signals to work the "clicker". Just like on a car, if a bulb burns out, the turn signal will flash faster or slower because the load has changed. led lights use much less power than the standard bulb. I would say bad bulb, poor ground, or the terminal is not touching the base of the bulb (bad contact at the bulb)
