I was in town in March, and was lucky enough to attend the vintage night at the Steer Inn. It gave me the idea of starting one in Saint Louis. We've had two now, and they've been a total success. If you ever get to town, check one out! Thanks for the inspiration Indy! www.facebook.com/#!/home.php?sk=group_194862127217186

Yes.. pictures please! I'd love to see what goes on there. I look forward to "first Thursday's" every month at the Steer Inn, for inspiration and getting to meet/know new folks, and seeing bikes I have all but forgotten. Watching enthusiasm for vintage moto's grow is great to see. I wonder how many great old bikes are still at the back of somebody's garage (and mind), awaiting the day they get to see the road again.

I saw these pictures on the facebook page of the one vintage night. Looks like a pretty good turn out. I think you have to be a facebook member to see them. www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_194862127217186#!/media/set/?set=oa.208047115898687 We need to organize something! here are a few of them.

Thanks. I had forgotten the name of the group. Is there anything I should see while I'm here in town, as far as Moto shops, etc? I'm here this week and the next. I may bring a bike next week.
Thanks, Doug

Here is a write up on posting pictures. indianapolisvintage.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=19 I am not a big fan of Harleys, but that one is sweet, I hope he doesn't go on long trips with it, I think the Benelli tank is only like 1 1/2 gallon.

That "Herley" belongs to a friend of mine. His dad croaked and left it to him. Except for that gap where the tank meets the seat, I think it turned out rather well. I let him hang with me as he also has a bad ass RD350, and a host of other interesting bikes. I'm all about the 2 strokes!

Doug, looks like a real success, congrats. For only 2 meets you got a lot of bikes out. How did you get the word out? What nights-how often-locations will you meet?

I think that is what we need to do and I think we should be meeting about once a week on friday nights I know there is a car show out at washington square mall, and also at xtra ordinary pizza in wanamaker its a new pizza joint. I think we should set up a day that we go to the pizza joint on like a saturday nite. It would be really nice to find a place that we can all call our hangout spot. What does everyone else think?

I agree with flyers, craigslist, facebook, and more flyers. I had already thought about a Facebook page for the forum and for the first time last night, my craigslist ad made it for about 8 hours before it got flagged (usually only lasts about 10 minutes). I don't know about once a week to meet up, I know my wife would not go for that, maybe once a month for me. We for sure should find a place to have a bike night, whether it be the same place or different places each time but we need to talk to the owners of where ever it is before hand. Not all place want a large group of motorcycles hanging out at their establishments.
