I held my taillight on with safety wire when the weld broke on it during a return trip from Chi-town year ago. These TT pipes have a little more weight and way too violent of a rattle. I really hate rigging stuff on my triumphs because it usually leads to something else breaking. Plus if you look at my bike closely about 50% of the required safety wire is still in place from it hay day in the AHRMA circuit.

I hate rigging stuff as well, unless it will keep me riding until I can get to the tools / parts to fix it right. It's rarely a long term solution. :-) Just messin' with you Hog.

Hog do you run that bike in races? What type of racing? Flat track? I woud like to watch you race sometime.
I have found rigging something is a temporary fix one way or the other and leads to other issues. But if it gets you home then it's ok. I fixed a lot of peoples "fixes" over the years. Even in the airline business I have watch folks try to spend more time try to get out of something then trying to just do it right. Any way hog that is a great looking bike.

No worries Nova, the more you get to know me you'll find I'm a real smart ass. My problem is I use to be that guy that rigged my bike all the time and kept putting band aids on broken parts so it drudges up all kinds of bad memories stranded on the side of the road. lol I guess when you are young and broke you do what you can to get by.
Zilch, the only racing I do is in the dirt. My 66 was raced in the AHRMA circuit through most of the 80 then retired to some guy’s man cave. A friend of mine acquired about 5 years ago and did the same until he decided to turn it into a street bike. It was a hand full for him and he said every time he rode it something fell off or broke. Imagine that!!
