Hey everyone - I'm looking for a mid 60's - late 70's 2-cylinder bike. Japanese or BMW. Okay if not perfect, but does need to be titled and running.
Thanks! teri

hi Teri, and welcome. Is this purchase for yourself? first bike? I don't have anything for sale but, I could maybe be of some help narrowing down choices. I don't know your mechanical ability or the size of your bank account but, a 40 yr old bike, even "running", can be the cause of much disappointment. A Japanese or German twin is a great place to start, or end up for that matter. Let us know a bit more about your ambitions for the bike. There are a bunch of old bikes out there to be had, and some are certainly better than others, for parts availability, ..rideability and investment. You can get some valuable input from the folks on this forum, and maybe get saved some cash and headaches.

Thanks for your note! This is a first bike for me - just got my permit and signing up for the next round of Abate classes. I appreciate what you're saying and understand anything 40-50 years old is going to need some work, but honestly I love the lines of the old bikes. I have a friend with 40 years of riding/mechanic experience who's guiding me and will help with the restoration and maintenance. I'm trying to not let budget get in the way, but if I could pick up something titled and running for under a thousand, that would be ideal. Having said that, I'm open to whatever pops up here.
Thanks again! Look forward to your suggestions. t

Have a 79 GS 550- not a twin, but near perfect bike for it's age. Make a nice cafe.
