I'm starting work on my '74 CB360's wiring and I realized I don't even know where to start. The harness that came with it is all eaten up and I don't want to reuse it. I'd like to make my own wiring setup, but I don't even know what kind of supplies to get. Any help?

Well the first question is what are u keeping and what are u getting rid of. Because if you are just wanting to a stock harness I have the stock wiring diagram and so does Barnfinder. Now id you are wanting to do a custom one all I did on my bobber was take a stock wiring diagram and just blacked out the wires I was not going to use. I made it seem alot harder than what it was I had someone help me do mine. If you want some help let me know

You can also save the bullet connector ends just by taking a soldering iron to them and ta dah! Then you reinstall them to either shortened harness or new wires by tinning the ends of the wires and sliding the bullet thru. Hope this helps.

You can reuse connector or order a set that comes with a dividing case. Getting new connectors is the best option but not at all nesesarry

CB500, I have a wiring diagram, so I'll try to black out the ones I won't be needing. I know how the wiring works in theory, but it's something I've never done before. What I'm looking at right now is what kind of wires and the like that I need to buy to get started.
Pardon my ignorance, but I have no background in anything motorcycle or auto related.

You will find that spools of wire will get expensive so if u want different colors for ur harness it will get expensive quick. I was debating on making my own harness out of scratch but with the expense of wire and my lack of connectors I just decided to pay the shop 250 to have it done professionally.

Dylanjames I know exactly what you mean and I can get you some wiring I think I still have some left over. Just once you find out how many colors you need let me know and ill see what I got.

That would be perfect! I'll go over it with my friend who knows a bit more than I do and find out what I need and what I don't.

You can figure out if youre going to use an e start or just a kicker, then from there its just start, ignition, charge and lighting circuits. If you are not using turn signals you can simplify the wiring even more.
