I just scored a bing float off ebay for $20 shipped! Suckers... I think. haha
I've spent $50 for one before, I have pretty bad luck with them cracking.

When I went through my 1968 R60/2 about 8 years ago or so, I bought most of my rubber stuff from Bob's www.bobsbmw.com/. What I didn't find at Bob's, I bought at Blue Moon www.bluemooncycle.com/ or Bench Mark Works www.benchmarkworks.com/. For used parts, I watched Ebay and also bought a couple things from people on marketplace.ibmwr.org/. If you are ever in Kokomo Indiana, Moody may have some parts left over in their stock www.moodycycle.com/60/index.php That is were I used to buy my parts for my newer airhead BMWs when I lived in Rochester. I have never bought parts from Guenther but he did the slingers on my engine. Hope this helps. If you have not done this yet, and you ride at night, get you a 6v halogen headlight bulb from Bench Marks. It fits in place of the original bulb and has much brighter light. (LOL, well, I guess as bright as a light can be for a 6volt system)

yeah, night riding is pretty bad on this thing... I never know if I have my highs or lows on (or is that dazzle/anitdazzle lol?) because both are so dim.
Thanks for the info! I'm getting so pumped about this bike and riding come spring... or any day above 30 and no rain.

No I meant the 3, however, my learners has expired, I need to go ahead and get the endorsement, but I'm afraid of my airhead overheating if I'm just sitting there idle a lot during the riders test.
Who do you insure your bike through Chris?

Who do you insure your bike through Chris? It is never a good idea to just have an air cooled engine sit running idle for long periods of time, but I am sure it would be fine for a rider test. Best bet would be find someone with a smaller bike to do the test. I sat for almost 2 hours creeping along in Chicago traffic on a road trip to the BMW rally in Wisconsin. I was loaded with my tent, tank bag, sleeping bags and there was no way I could shut her down and jump off to restart her along the road. I never had a problem with mine overheating. I hope to see you this summer. Insured at American Family
