Got me a Ducati 750SS / 900SS style seat to put on my cb450. I love the looks of it but to fit it on the bike the original seat mount will need to be modified. I can cut off the rear frame just behind the shock mounts, this will also give me a little more room to mount my battery under the hump of the seat. I am pretty sure I know what I will do but thought I would ask an opinion. Be gentle! I already know the bike needs a bath!

Cut it as close to the frame as you can and save the bracket so you can return it to stock.

I say notch it where you want to cut it off then angle up to match the lines of the seat.

I think cutting it and welding a loop would be the cleanest looking. FWIW
