I bought the 4m inserts to take care of my stripped carb bowl threads. I figured since I have metric taps could just use those. It looks like you have to use their specific tap though. Is this correct? Looked all over the internet to come up with the correct tap size for these inserts and have had no luck.

there are 3 dif threads for metric i think. 1.0 - 1.25 and 1.50 You prob need to get the correct threading. just a thot.

Cj, the taps used to install helicoils are very odd ball sized. Nothing standard. I have a complete "master kit" from harbor freight that has inserts, the correct drill bits / taps, and installation tools. If you want to run over one night pm me and we can get those fixed up.
