Does anyone have any tips on how to replace the handlebars. I have the standard on currently and I'm trying to separate the break/clutch wiring from the switch boxes, but there are some stripped screws and the grips aren't pulling off the bars. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance! cullen

some times a small punch and a hammer will turn a screw enough to get it loose. the grips might have to be cut off.

An impact screwdriver may work. I had to use one on my cb450 as they were stripped.

i had to drill the head off of a striped screw on mine, after the head drilled completely off (careful not to damage the grips) I was able to separate the box and take the screw out with a set of vice grips

I like to use PB blaster to soak the threads, then I try to get vise grips on the head of the screw, if it's completely stripped out. A little bit of heat from a propane torch applied to the aluminum housing will often loosen up the threads as well. As a last resort, take a die grinder and cut a slot in the head of the screw, then use a large flat head screwdriver. Good luck, go slow and easy on it and you'll get it.

Use all the above suggestions starting with PB blaster and you should get it!

+1 on the dremmel the head for a flat screw just dont cut it too deep or you will twist the head off. worst case youll have to drill it out. maybe an easy out drill bit. worst worst case, drill it out and use a keen sert.
