dont know if anyone here reads MOTORCCLE CLASSICSmagazine, but while i was rereading the march/april 2010 issue i came across a good article on how to recover a seat. you can find it on their website under the restoration/technical section. its called seat covering 101 and has detailed pictures showing them doing the seat off a73 tx650. they use a cover from Saddlemen.

I sew and stuff so if someone has a pattern and material I can do seats. I can't imagine upholstry being that different than making clothing and stuff

I want to do a set for my current build. I'll have to look it up. By the way did you get the current issue with the Gold Star on the front? I tried twice to read the article last night, but kids and wife interfered.

Well If the seam is just separating then it can be repaired just by sewing it back up. If the material is what's tearing then it's just going to keep tearing even if repaired because it will be taking abuse from being rode on. I can help people make seats. Well seat covers as well as seat repair. Just bring me materials a patter or old seat cover and a picture or description of what you want.

I just covered my seat for my 450 but it's just a temporary test cover. I would put a pic up but i can't find the cord to link the camera to the pc. I'll make a Minnie write up post about it later because I took pics of the pattern I used. I will do an in depth one with the seat cover I make for the finished 450.
