Shortening a throttle cable - a how to

I know, what a jip. There is no how to posted!

I want to do a how to on shortening a 1 into 2 throttle cable but I don't have a cable. When I shortened mine from the big ape hanger bars to my clip ons for the cb450, this forum was not around yet. Anyway, I need a cable to do the how to. I think leadkrm may have said somewhere he needed one shortened. Let me know so I can do a write up on it.

I would be really interested in this. I will need to shorten some this winter. In the past I have always taken them to Robby at CRC.
