Hey fellas,
Thought I would go through my recent project.
I was fed up with my '81 XJ750RH and ready for a change.

Next, I get an offer on a '78 Goldwing that was sold for scrap metal. As with other typical 'wings of the period it had a Vetter fairing and other assorted items to slow it down. It was dumped and sat in what appears to be a farm in Southern Georgia since 1992 (expiry date on the tag). It was in sad shape.
Started over Thanksgiving tearing it down. Removed the trashed fairing, removed alarm system and all extra wiring. Next, worked the engine free, rebuilt the carbs, cleaned the tank (quite an undertaking), Repainted the tank, rebuilt both master cylinders, rebuilt calipers, Adjusted valves, new points, replaced missing points cover and replaced fan switch. Lastly, I replaced the tires and got a new headlight.
After all of that it fired right up. Now on to the modifications:
1. Replaced tail light with a "Laydown" style Harley tail light
2. Replaced licence plate holder with Harley Sportster holder
3. Cut second seat off of king and queen seat and recovered
4. Replaced the stock turn signals with new smaller turn signals
5. Replaced rotten mufflers with highly modified Honda VTX mufflers.

This winter I plan on repainting the frame, repainting the bike a copper or orange color (still not decided), bobbing the front fender, and handling the corrosion and rust everywhere else.
Until then, I am riding and enjoying the Indiana weather and scouting ideas for my cafe project.
Thanks for taking a look and let me know what you think.
