Got to meet Stevear today, what a pleasure! Bench racing with him today he gave me the method I'm going to use to mount my license plate... Which led to me thinking I can dual purpose the license plate to mount my oil filter.... See the pictures. Thanks Steve!

Not huge progress but progress none the less. I made the pair of coil brackets reusing the aft mount for the stock airboxes. I will put a piece of rubber between the bracket and frame to help minimize the vibrations. I'll use a hose clame to hold them to the bracket. Should look good, last forever. Nova

So today started out with me making tabs for the license plate bracket. They turned out well. Does anyone have an expired plate I can use for a template to drill holes? I don't have one. Then while I was looking at things in general I thought to myself, "Man that chain is gonna come close to hitting the battery tank." So I put my engine in it and yes, if the chain flops much it will kiss the tank. I may just put a piece of thin rubber on the bottom of the tank to take the hits just in case. I'm hoping to be able to adjust most if not all of the flop out of it. Here are a couple of pics with all the mock ups in place. Left side Right side without coil :-( Angled shot. I now that I have my engin in place I think I'll be fine using the stock pegs and brake lever. The list grows shorter my friends! I'll be ordering rims in a week or so. I'll tear down mine and build them up with new ss spokes, rims and tubes and tires. (I've had the wheel pieces for over a year... this bike has taken a lot longer than originally planned!!) That's the update for now. Need to make header brackets, and brake rod, and a head steady, and finish assembly of the engine, make final spacers for the rear wheel, figure out fender mounts. OH I think I'm going to bend up a piece of aluminum the same thickness as the fender, then rivet it to the fender using big ole aircraft rivets, then bolt support rods to that. Still working on the bottom and mid mount. I don't want to get crazy until I have the tire I'm going to run mounted and in place. :-). Ok I've rambled long enough. See you guys on the flip side. Later! Nova

Well, I've gotten quite a bit done on the bike in the last couple of weeks. Kickstand, ( no more wood blocks for me) chain, tail light... I will have to move the battery box, the chain hits it ever so slightly. Still need to make the front tank mount, finish welding the tank... start wiring it... finish the top end... I also installed the clutch and alternator. I definately have to re time the shifter... :-( I need to place a parts order so progress my slow down for a few weeks. October is a rough month on the checking account for some reason... Eric

Hey all. Short update from the weekend. I moved the battery tank over 1 inch, I've decided not to run a tensioner. Gonna see how it does. Replaced the studs in the rocker boxes, tweaked a couple of little bits. Flushed the oil tank. It's ready for oil. I've got a 29 item list of tasks left to do to the bike. Things are moving along nicely. The Triumh fund is empty so I have to wait to buy the parts I need. I should have no trouble being finished for the spring though. No new pictures nothings really changed in her outward appearence. Maybe next week.

Fabbed up my front fuel tank mount today. It's not as pretty as I would have liked but it works great. Started making the rear brake switch mount. Just need to drill a couple of holes and tap them and we're in business. I need to build up my wheels and get them installed before I make my rear fender mounts. That will probably not take place until after Christmas. I'll just be doing little things. No new pictures to post. Later.
