I am going to have to buy a new battery for my 70 Honda cb450 and my dad needs one for his 78 bmw R80 before long. We are both wanting a battery that is NOT the led acid type. I have read great reviews of both the Odyssey battery and the Shorai battery. I like the idea of the shorai that weigh only 2 lbs compared to 11 lbs and that you can leave them sit for a year without a charge and they still have almost full power, and the fact that they have the same starting power at 0 degs as they do at 70 degs. www.shoraipower.com/default.aspxI also like the fact that the Odyssey has both cranking power and deep cycle reserve power. www.odysseyfactory.com/batteries.htmlIs there anyone that has either of these batteries and if so, what do you think of them?

I dont have either but I really like my Deka AGM. Its as heavy as a standard butthe absorbed glass mat will keep it from puking acid.
You can buy them direct from their wherehouse on Senate just south of Lucas Oil Stadium.

I have 3 AGM's and so far (all under 2 years) I like 'em. I got 2 at Mikes XS. My Beemer battery is so deep in the bike I can't get to it to see, and I can't find my receipt so I don't know what it is. I found it linked on a thread at Pelican Parts. Gels are supposed to require a gel charger and agm's a normal one.

I keep my AGM on a battery tender. Three years old now and haven't had any problems
