Eric, I've got a set of 220's. I'll be at Brockway this evening(Thurs. night),I'll bring them with me,so if you show up,they are yours. If you can't make it,but can find someone to pick them up,that would be O.K. Jack

Hey Jack,
Thanks for the offer Jack. Sorry I didn't see it before I drove out to Bainbridge. I was able to get a set and the bike loves them. I just have a slight stumble with some detonation right at 1/4 throttle... I'll get that figured out though. Need to research if I need to change the needle when I change the needle jet.

Eric, the needles are stainless steel, the needle jet is brass. the jet gets worn but the needle doesn't. The jet for your bike should be a 106. If a .1065 pin gauge will go in it, it needs to be replaced. Jack

I know I have a new 105 and 106 if you want to try those.

The carbs were brand new with 106 needle jets. The bike has responded well to bigger jets / richer slides so I'm gonna go with the 107 needle jet. If I understand it correctly right at 1/4 throttle it's transitioning from the slides/pilot circuit to the needle jet. I'd have to look at the chart again though so don't quote me. Thanks though man!

Eric, FWIW,I think you will find the 107 WAY TOO RICH. The jump from 106 to 107 is alot more than it sounds like it is. to make a change that is in line with say a main jet change of 200 to 210, the change is done with the needle. Jack

That is good to know Jack. By needle change do you mean a clip adjustment or a different needle? If it's a different needle can you suggest a pn? Thanks for your help!

Eric, clip adjustment. The needle used on the '71's works fine for the 30 mm amal on a 650 triumph.Besides the clip, you can also make changes in the mixture by adding thin washers to the jet holder and needle jet. Jack
