nice clean looking bike. Dont forget about the Vintage Bike night at the Steer Inn. tomorrow night from 6-9pm. Emerson and 10th. Cb550 is a good all around bike. Someday you should go back to a stock color and stripes i like the stock look

Looks great. Did you have any trouble with the front brake master cylinder? The one on my '72 500-4 seems to be stuck on all the time, like the brake is constantly being applied. Larry

Larry,
This is very common on the early Honda disc brakes. corrosion builds up behind the square seal and presses onto the puck preventing it from releasing. You just have to disassemble it clean the gunk out and install a fresh seal and you should be back in business.

the front brake was corroded and stuck when I first had the bike. I cleaned and rebuild each season sometimes twice due to dissimilar metal corrosion that builds up. I found a guy who makes stainless steel pistons and installed one about 4 years ago. Havn't had to remove the caliper since. Highly reccomend a stainless piston for the caliper. Even have one for the little 350 four.
