Love this bike. Have owned it since 1991 and it's been an ongoing project. The original 550 had over 25k and was worn out. I found a nice one for sale at CRC for 200 and it had 5k on it. What a find huh?... I clean the chrome and polished aluminum each year. Keep her in the garage at all times unless I'm riding. I recently installed a new barnett clutch kit and springs. I think the springs were a huge help. My most recent splurge was on a set of carbs from some guru in Cali. I paid 450 for them and I'm very happy the way they help the engine run. The original set were abused for many years and some parts were actually broken. Attachments:

Great looking 550. Did you get stock replacement carbs? I notice your head pipes look pretty good. Must be new. I have a '72 500 awaitng some TLC. LH

yes stock carbs, but rebuilt and refinished. The header is a 4 into 1 mac. not a bad pipe.

it's a seat cover. Kinda like a covering with a string to pull it tight. Works great and looks decent. Price wasnt too bad if i recall. Found on ebay. Lots of cool parts available online.
