Just wanted to share this with everyone. It is a easy and cheap way to get a title for a old bike. advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=655441I can say first hand it works. I did not get a title with my 81 CX500. This got me a Vermont Plate and ownership registration that will transfer into a title when I take it to the Indiana BMV.

you can get a title in indiana with out spending $89.00 we've posted this info on the forum. However we have discussed that every indiana bmv does it differently. And some keep changing their minds each time you try it. This may be a good alternative though.
thanks steve

Hey Grifter500,
I'm about to attempt this process for a 1971 Triumph TR6. What did you do about the TAX Value on your '81? Did you use NADA Value and include the 6% tax or did you go off of the Stated Purchase Price? I only paid $300 for my basket way back when... I'd hate to have to pay tax on $1800+ per NADA in "fair" condition.
If you used stated purchase price, did you supply extra documentation? I.E. - Notarized bill of sale or the like.
Thanks, Ryan

I always go off what I pay for the bike and have never had an issue with it. One bike i put 100 dollars down as the price because it was a basket case. Just make a phone call and ask up at the bmv.
