Hello all. Ran across this site from a Craigslist ad. I just got a 1981 Honda CX 500. New to bikes and really excited to make this bike my own with a few changes. Here is how it sits now. Hopefully paint and a new seat happen very soon for me. I plan to do somewhat of a cafe style for this but bikes are very new to me and I am still finding out lots of things. Looking forward to a local message board and maybe sharing ideas. Attachments:

Really like these CX500, your bike is looking good. Where have you hidden the electronics at?

Sounds like a plan to me 79l82. My email is dfields2162@live.com. Let me know when you want to go ride. I jus started riding so I am still getting use to it but looking forward to this season.
All the electronics are under the seat, and at the bottom of the frame behind the motor. The battery is in a small homemade box under the frame.

Can you post up some pictures of the battery box? I am trying to decide how I am going to do up my electronics.

Just let me know when. I am usually available Saturdays and before 6pm on Sundays.
I am really looking forward to riding this season and making some new friends along the way. I got my bike in on trade for a 65 Rambler American I was working on. First time it I was hooked.

Got my fairing mounted today. Now I am trying to decide what to do on a seat. I have a fiberglass tail that was given to me but I am not 100% sure I like the way it looks and also it will have to have some work done to make it fit and make a seat cushion for it as well. I am contemplating using a seat similar to the old Honda CB's and then if the old lady wanted to ride along with me there would be room for her. The plastic tail would have to be a solo. I found a few on ebay fairly cheap. Ill post a couple more pics after this post to show the tail I have, a mock up of what I am thinking on a CB seat, and also a close up of the battery box for the above post requesting it.
