Honda CL 125A Scrambler muffler fix

Hello -- I have a 1969 Honda CL125A Scrambler. Both exhaust pipes are good, but the bottom of the flat, side-mounted muffler has rusted out. The baffle seems to be OK. I know these mufflers are nearly impossible to find. Is there a way to patch the one I have? The cancer is probably two inches side and four inches long.

you should be able to cut out the rust, weld in a patch panel, grind/sand smooth , then re-chrome
