So this 73 OSSA listed last night right in my backyard!!! I phoned the seller within minutes of it posting and left msg. He called back in about 30min and after some small talk, we set up an 8Am appoint this morning to get the OSSA.
About 1 hour later the seller phoned me but left no msg, I called him back and again said who I was and asked if he needed something. The crazy seller confused me with another interested buyer and proceeded to tell me how he was saving the OSSA for me and he would blow off the earlier 8AM buyer...also me....lol. I said nothing as I didnt want to blow my cover and wanted to score this OSSA. He said to come at 8:30 as he was going to blow off the 8AM buyer. I fully expected a call or msg from this seller stating how the 8AM appoint would not work...the blow off. That call never came.
I showed up as scheduled at 8AM and the seller informed me the bike was sold...I was pissed and and asked why he never called me. I also was pretty sure he was holding for the 8:30Am buyer....again, also me. I was no more than 1 mile away, my phone rang it was the seller. I disguised my voice, as I had just left his house, and he explained how he just told the 8AM buyer (me) that the bike was sold and was laughing and that I can come get it anytime.
I was unsure what to do...do I go right back and call him on his bullshit. Nope, I went 5 minutes home, switched to another truck, changed my jacket and my hat and then went back. I removed my glasses around the corner. I wasn't sure how this would go? Would the seller catch on?? He never did!!!! He joked about how he just jacked the other 8AM guy around and that he was glad it was going to me....haha. What a tool!!! To make it better the OSSA would not start as the plug was fouled. I blistered him out of $75 bucks because it was non-running, went home, put in new plug and she fired 2nd kick.... Bike will be washed and put on EBAY for a nice profit!!! Lesson here is--for sellers, keep your phone numbers and buyers straight, and for buyers, keep some Graucho Marx glasses in your truck just in case you need to go back as someone else!!!
