Hogsausage, yes this is Jack Adams, and your welcome. Chico, didn't know you thought I was a Know- it -all when I mentioned the chain tensioner, just some info that I picked up in my nearly 40 years of riding a Triumph hardtail. If you want to figure out all this stuff on your own,That is fine with me,I'll keep it to myself. by all means,i dont know everything, but i know what im doing with this motor. everyone is different, and some things that dont work for others, work for me. i put thousands of hard miles on my trump this spring and summer,so myself and my friend Rob obviously know what we're doing. i appreciate your opinion, but all the facts from me we not layed out on the table. i was wondering, did you ride your trump to ohio AMA vintage days? not a "snub",was just curious. tried to talk to you there, but you seemed too busy.

I will say "we" in the vintage motorcycle community seem to have a lot of know it alls. I wish people would not look at it that way. Don't take offence when someone gives you some advice. I'll be honest, I've avoided many people because of that attitude in the past and learned some stuff the hard way. Now I'm open to all suggestions and information. I don't even care if it's some hipster that just started riding his cafe'd out Honda SL175. I'll humor him on bench racing. Jack if you didn't know I'm Sean that owns the Big D's TT race bike. You gave me some good insight on it last summer and I learned a whole lot more about it at Mid-O from at the Brit bike compound. All suggestions or comments should be taken just as that. Do your own diligence and make your own choice, because you are the one riding the bike. Remember a lot has changed with these bikes in the 40, 50, 60 + years they have been on the road. Outside of that let just all get along and don't get pissed at me if I lead you on a ride and get lost in the middle of nowhere (lol). It just might just be the best 5hrs of your week!

I figured Rob was involved from the start,so that is not news to me. As for Mid-O,I go with a truck and trailer with bikes for the bike shows(and to ride to dinner each night) and room for more bikes and parts from the swap meet. If I seemed busy,it was because I probably was at that moment, not that I didn't care to. I have bought my first Triumph 650 in 1971,and have been riding and re-building them ever since,I have nothing to prove. Maybe I'll see you at Mid-O next year,as I haven't missed one this century.
