if the plugs are foul, get new plugs, then adjust the carbs.

That hose is most likely a breather hose for your carbs. My suggestion is unplug it first and the fan not running could be a fuse or connection issue.

Might try using jumper wires to troubleshoot the fan, thats what I used to do as a auto mechanic and a lot of the time it was the relay,or something simple like that.

didnt think it needed to, it was poping and lossing top end thats how i found it, I'd plug it back, clean or replace the spark plugs and see if it then runs better. Find out what its purpose is and if it can be disconnected or not. Then trouble shoot the fan. If the fan works when powered directly with a jumper off the battery and fuses are good. Then its most likely the relay or temperature sending unit. I'm not familiar with this exact bike but that's usually what controls the fan.

thanks guys for the help,,, i checked it this morning and it started right up, like 4 cranks , no coke, weird,,,, well i did something a guy did on the v4 forum, he put a flip switch in line with the sensor for the fan, well before that i tested the fan and it works fine,, so after doing that, i have rode it today and have not had any problems, what i have been doing is when it gets to the middle i turn the fan on. and the fan will have no power when the key is off, so no one can run the battery down if im not around,, i guess i overheated the coils maybe, i ve seen it happen on a car before, could that have happen on the bike.
