Hello, My name is Pat and I’m a Bike-A-Holic. I love motorcycles and have since my dad took me to flat track races in NC when he was stationed at Ft Bragg in the 60’s. He was riding a Honda at the time and I can’t recall which one. I didn’t own a bike myself until I was in the ARMY stationed in Calif. I bought a 1968 BSA that was bobbed for $325. It was a pain to keep running without a proper place to work on it and all the right tools. But I was in heaven riding it. I joined a local bike club and road all over northern California and even to Reno. I sold the bike when I got transferred to Hawaii and ended up getting married there the first time. That was the end of my experience of owning/riding bikes for 30 years. My interest never waned but the possibility of owning a bike was throttled by family raising requirements. I worked for a local now defunct airline until around 2005 and ended up working in Savannah, GA. I would travel back and forth between INDY and Savannah. The price of fuel sky rocketed and I decided to buy a bike. I found a 2000 Honda Shadow Spirit 750. I rode everyday to work and ended riding back and forth from Savannah to Indy 3x’s that summer. It was quite the trip about 1400 miles in four days round trip. That bike never let me down but I ended up selling it before returning to a local job in the INDY area. I finally got my dream bike last fall a 1976 Triumph Bonneville 750 T-140V. Brit bikes are my favorite even though I like all bikes. The engines remind me of old piston aircraft engines I learned on in A&P School. They are simple straight forward machines and are look like art work to me. All these years I think about bikes everyday, I use to make engine noises when they would pass my car, I sit on my bike in the winter and garage ride making more engine noises with my lips. I am a sick sick individual ; )
I look forward to meeting some folks that are interested in vintage bikes. If your not kicking it your not living. ; )
