Under the seat?

See that is what I originally thought, under the seat. But the battery is there, then underneath that is just the regular battery sheet metal holder. It has to have fuses but where???
Again the bike is stripped down from the tank, seat and side covers. I can see everything.

Ya, I found that one. I tore apart from headlight to tailight looking for a fuse box and that is all I located. I grounded the spark plug and still there isn't any spark. Checked all the connections and not one looks bad or fried. But I did notice the battery grounding wire is a little hard and plan on replacing it after work. But I do not have my hopes up that this will correct anything.

How old are the plugs? Quite often a new set of plugs are in order. I know Honda's have an on / off switch for the ignition, I have to ask does the xs have one and was it in the on position?

New plugs and battery, points have been cleaned with emery cloth and still to no avail. I am getting discouraged, past frustrated.

If you have continuity meter I would start checking for broken wires. Its a 75, thats 38 year old wiring.
there are several wiring diagrams on the xs650 forums.
I have a spare set of points and condenser, they worked most of the time.
No master at the points ignition systems but I read that it is easy to accidently ground out your ignition, Id check for contunity there as well.

I finally broke down and bought new points and condensor, I will try to put them on tonight. I am hoping this works.

Installed new points and condensor with the help of Deacon Sean. We got it running. He is a master in his own right. He showed tricks to do that I wouldn't have tried, again I am mechanically inclined so I was impressed. I will be able to make it to Rockers Reunion on this bike because of his help.

I officially have taken the Xs650 on it's maiden voyage yesterday and it runs great. Filled it up at the gas station and strolled for a little ride. It couldn't be anymore perfect unless it was brand new off the showroom floor. Again, I want to show my gratitude to Deacon Sean for taken time out of his busy schedule and helping me with getting it running. Without him, it still would be a paperweight. Thanks Sean!
