I was hoping to do this ride on the pipe, but I need to get my heads cut to lower the compression a bit. So I'll have 3 gallons of 110 in the tank to get to the show and back.

What part of the head are you having cut?

Squish bands cut, then the domes machined to match compression ratio to today's pump gas. This is on the RD.
I was hoping they were gong to be ok but with the pipe I ended up going with its a bit on the edge.

All bikes are welcome. I don't think you will get left behind if you are on a slower bike. Some groups just ride slow some fast but we always check to make sure all are with us . I was a road captian last year and never lost a person in my group until the end when I lost the whole group.

Not to start any unnecessary drama, but this years flyer for the ride had "Vintage(pre-'84) Motorcycle Run" in the title. My wife saw this(she has a 2001 Triumph Legend TT) and immediately disheartened and upset she couldn't go. She loved last years ride and wanted for the ride to never finish and was looking forward to this years. I had to get in touch with another promoter to find out if she was allowed to go or would she be turned away, the other promoter explained they suggest a vintage bike but never be turned away. Now she is excited to run this year with the club. If my wife thinks that, many others do too.

Like you said we won't turn them away but we are a vintage cafe club putting on a vintage motorcycle show and this is a vintage ride. There are plenty of shows and rides out there for modern bike, cruisers, choppers ect... I invite friends every year that ride newer harleys and sport bikes. They like to come look at the "cool" bikes but I tell them to park down the road.

That is appreciated, last year a lot of vintage bikes parked on the side streets while modern bikes parked in the show area.

Yes, she understands that about the vintage club thing. She has the mentality the since she owns and rides a Triumph she is 'Always' included in the vintage events. Like I said, she really enjoys the tour/ride of like-minded people having/riding a piece of history without any egos or attitudes. You just can't find that anywhere else. This club changes people lifestyles for the good. We need things like this more often. My wife certainly thinks so and just wants to feel included.

If everything works out this year we will have parking areas for show bike. This is the most planning and organization we have ever put into this event. I can't say enough good things of my club mates that have busted their ass going to city meetings, filing for permits and all that shit I don't want to deal with!
